Speaker Lubna Jahangiri will begin the evening with a discussion of her
novel, The Little Stepmother, which deals with child marriage in the context
of Pakistan’s independence in an elaborate intergenerational story.
MCLE topics for the evening will include Islam, the history of Muslim
women living under oppression, and the history of Muslim-Americans. This
provides context to her material on working effectively and respectfully
with Muslim colleagues, opposing counsel and clients.
